
As we head into the second year of lockdown restrictions in the UK I wanted to take a look at the local companies in Rutland and the surrounding areas to gather some ideas for you on how to make your lockdown Valentine’s a little more special.

What a cute idea from the Rutland Book Nook. She is inviting you to visit her Facebook page and have a blind date with a book….

Vicki at Paisley Floral is a local Florist based right here in Oakham, Rutland. Not only does she offer an option for bouquets to be delivered she also has the option for a monthly bouquet subscription. What a fantastic idea.

A private magic show
How about a live, interactive mind reading and magic experience. You can even get the kids involved as these are suitable for children from the age of 8 up. Shows are 40 minutes long and you can book yours by contacting Ricky HERE

A family or couples Photoshoot
We may still be in lockdown for now but why not get yourself booked in for a family or couples photoshoot and be the first in line to have your family photographed when the lockdown is eased.
Photoshoots last for approx 60 minutes in the Rutland area and are £295 including your edited digital images. What better a way to show someone how much you love them than capturing your love for all eternity.

Fancy something a little more substantial? Why not opt for the Valentine’s Sunday lunch from the Wisteria Hotel in the heart of Oakham. They are offering an incredible menu of Valentine’s delights including roast sirloin of Beef and Strawberry Cheesecake. My mouth is already watering just thinking of it!

Movie night
Have a movie night in the comfort of your own home. Get some popcorn, nachos, and cheese or sweets – or all three why not!!, turn down the lights and curl up on the sofa with a blanket. Turn off your phones and just enjoy each others company, admit it, when was the last time you had a tech-free night!

Feeling brave? why not play MR & MRS with your couple friends on zoom. The winners can be treated to a drink by the other couples when we are allowed to go back out again!

There are so many more things you can do on valentines day too, here are just a few ideas;
1. Go out for a long walk and hold hands like old times
2. Get all dressed up for dinner as if you were going out, shirts, dresses, makeup the full works
3. Put a concert on TV and pretend like you are there
4. Have a cocktail making night, get creative and have a bit of fun putting some new cocktails together.
