I have only recently begun offering family photo sessions on my website officially. Since having my daughter in February of this year and then the lockdown making me realise just how much family means to me and to all of us, I have come to believe that now more than ever it is SO IMPORTANT to capture moments just like these to treasure and to pass down the generations.
During lockdown part one, my mum contacted me, she wanted to know if I had any nice photos of my siblings and their children for a project she was working on. I can’t go in to detail on what that was because as I understand it, it is for a Christmas present.
I was shocked to realise that no, I hadn’t taken any photos of my own family in such a long time that nothing I had was up to date.
With this in mind, I set out to capture the different members of my family, I had managed to complete this session and one other before lockdown part two started so these are to be continued but for now here are a few images from a session with my beautiful sister Phoebe and her gorgeous and wonderfully independent daughter Isla.
P.S. If any of you are crushing over Islas coat and skirt then you need to head to Islabootique – my sister started her own business when Isla was born creating beautiful handmade childrens clothing. It truly is beautiful and so well made my baby girl has so many little outfits and coats from her now we are creating quite the collection.

Isla showing us where the baby is was so funny, she was convinced it was in her tummy and not mummies.

Time for a quick change before heading out to the woods. We had to help mummy with her make up of course.

Next stop was the thicket in St Ives to play with the leaves and capture some photos of mummy, Isla and new baby Ezra. We didn’t have too long as it was coming up to Isla’s nap time but I love the images we captured and I know my sister does too. Thank goodness we got these in before lockdown part two came in to play as whilst I am allowed to meet her outdoors I am not actually allowed to work 🙁

Hopefully this has given you a little insight into the sort of images we can capture in a family photoshoot. My family photoshoots are about an hour long and usually take place either indoors or outdoors although I will soon be introducing a special option to include both like we did here with Phoebe and Isla so keep an eye out for that.
I know we can’t actually take family photos right now but if you would like to buy a gift voucher for a family photoshoot to take place in the New Year just get in touch. And don’t worry, if we go in to lockdown again, all vouchers will be extended for a duration equal to that of the lockdown so you won’t miss out.
