I’m sure you won’t be surprised to know that my husband came up with the blog post title! Quite catch I think. He isn’t wrong though, when it comes to weddings, especially in the current climate, bigger is most certainly not always better.
I have spent the past few days contacting all of this year’s couples to discuss their plans, be it keep the date and hold out to see if COVID-19 allows for their wedding to go ahead, hold a new date just in case or move their wedding to 2022.
When I sent the emails out I will admit to being quite nervous about the influx of emails from couples asking to move or cancel but I was actually pleasantly surprised.
Several of this year’s brides and grooms, brides and brides and grooms and grooms have said that actually, they just want to get married. They no longer want COVID to dictate when they will be getting married, in fact in their exact words “Not to sound clichĂ© and all, but….we just want to get married to each other now :)”
Now don’t get me wrong, I completely understand that a Micro wedding as they have now become known, is not what most couples have been planning for and in some cases, it just can’t work but I have seen first-hand just how magical a Micro Wedding can be.
Don’t believe me? take a look at the photos below from Nicole and Chris’s wedding day or hop back to the wedding of Jessica and Steve
Another way to look at it, according to my husband, it’s a brilliant way of getting out of inviting all of the people you were only going to invite out of courtesy đ AND it can save you a lot of money in the process.
So if you are looking at having a smaller wedding when restrictions are eased just head to my wedding collections to take a look at your options, I have anything from 1.5 hours to cover your ceremony and a few photos afterward to 4 hours covering arrival, ceremony, group photos, and couple photos.
Not sure which is best for you? Just send me an email to photography@amandaforman.co.uk or give me a call on 01572 491791

A few word from the bride and groom;
“After having changed the date so many times we just found that actually just being married meant more to us than anything. Regardless of how small or big, the ceremony was now going to be. We wanted a proper family for our little boy and for us all to have the same name. Who knows how long these restrictions will be so why not just have a small intimate ceremony?”
