Claire and Derrick’s wedding day started with overcast skies, and ended with rain lashing down but guess what, it didn’t matter. Claire and Derrick weren’t about to let it spoil their day, umbrellas at the ready we headed out in to the rain.

The ceremony took place at Normanton Church, a sunken church situated in the heart of Rutland. The rain could be heard on the roof of the church as they exchanged their vows which just added to the magic of the day. We had plenty of time for photos after the wedding ceremony and took full advantage of the location. Of course we sent the guests ahead to Rutland Water Golf Course for the reception so they didn’t have to stand there and get wet, that would have been cruel.

One of the best things about heading over to the Golf Course for the reception is the fact that they let us use the golf buggies to get to the best spots, meaning I get to race the couple (responsibly of course)

Claire and Derrick’s dancefloor did not disappoint, they were still dancing when I left and I had been there over an hour after the first dance so testament to them!
