Newborn Family Photos in Rutland

When Sarah and James contacted me to ask me if I could come and photograph them with their new little addition to the family I was so excited.

Newborn photography is usually paired with the thought of very posed photos, hours in a photography studio and a lot of waiting around. I have absolutely nothing against that if it is what you are looking for from your newborn photoshoot but for me I prefer to keep it simple and keep it natural.

My newborn sessions take place in your own home, there are no rules, we just hang out and see what happens.

In this case, big sis wanted snuggles with her baby sister, she also wanted to nibble daddies ear (not sure he was as keen) and little Eden slept through pretty much the entire photoshoot like an angel.


I photographed Sarah and James’s wedding so we already knew each other which means they also know I have a strong love for coffee so when a pot had just been brewed when I arrived I was very very happy. The whole photoshoot was so relaxed and lovely I genuinely only left because I had another shoot to get to. Not before I got some baby snuggles though. I am not sure there is anything better than that newborn smell!! You know I’m right!
