The Falcon Hotel Wedding of James & Lottie

The Falcon Hotel in Uppingham was the perfect setting for James & Lottie’s Wedding Day

Having photographed Lottie’s Dad’s wedding the year before I was so excited to receive and email from James asking if I would be available in April this year to Photograph their Wedding at The Falcon Hotel in Uppingham.

The ceremony was going to be at the stunning All Saints Church in Oakham, a favourite of mine, with photos at Rutland Water on the way back to the Falcon.

As anyone who has enquired with me will know, If you book me for the day, I really do mean the whole day. I started with Lottie and her wedding crew in one of the beautiful rooms in the Falcon at 09:30 in the morning, plenty of time for everyone to get used to me being there, and to allow me to get the little things like the something blue being sewn in to the shoe by Lottie’s wonderful Mum, Amanda arriving with the flowers and the laughter between Lottie and her bridesmaids.

James was also getting ready in the hotel so it gave me the chance to pop over to see him and the boys before they left for the church and enjoy the many discussions about how bowties should be correctly tied and which one was best.

Scroll to the end of this little gallery section to see the best reaction I have seen from a Dad seeing his Daughter in her wedding dress for the first time.

The Ceremony at All Saints Church in Oakham

James and Lottie Chose All Saints Church in Oakham Rutland for their ceremony. Situated right in the centre of Oakham, it is a stunning church and the largest in Rutland.

Lottie arrived with her Dad, both with huge grins on their faces, I’m a Daddies girl myself so seeing this part of the day always brings a tear to my eye.

All Saints Church had been beautifully decorated with the most incredible floral arrangements by Amanda Steele, all of which would later be moved over to the Falcon.

Seeing James’s reaction to Lottie walking down the aisle was only seconded by seeing her reaction to seeing him and the look on her Dad’s face seeing how excited she was.

After the ceremony there was of course confetti and some of the best confetti throwing I have seen in a while by some incredibly enthusiastic guests ! nicely done. After which me, Lottie and James departed to capture some photos on the shores of Rutland Water.

The wind was a paid actor!

The Wedding Reception at The Falcon Hotel Uppingham

The Falcon Hotel is right in the Heart of Uppingham, just four miles from Rutland Water so not a long journey at all from our little pit stop for the Wedding photos.

The guests had already headed over to The Falcon after the ceremony and been looked after by the team, with welcome drinks flowing by the time Lottie and James arrived back.

A quick visit to the reception room to check out the incredible cake by Michele from Love Life Eat Cake featuring their little dog Olive, and see the venue styling and then Lottie and James were back with their guests to enjoy their wedding reception. Drinks, plenty of congratulations, lots of laughing and speeches and a sunset later ….

Lottie had an outfit change with a dress that needed shortened. In stepped James with his first duty as a husband, scissors ready to cut the bottom of the dress! He did a bloody good job too!
