wedding planning tips
Preparing for your wedding can be both exciting and nerve wrecking, particularly when dealing with any last-minute arrangements, it’s like everything suddenly needs dealt with all at once! As your wedding day draws near, the multitude of details and choices can leave you feeling a bit overwhelmed.
However, fear not, I am here to lend a helping hand. By employing effective planning, organisation, communication with your suppliers, and the support of your online wedding family, you can guarantee a smoother journey to your big day.
The two-week mark before your wedding is a pivotal moment to concentrate on those final preparations. Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to lose sight of these essential tasks. So, let’s delve into the crucial steps to tackle during this period, ensuring you approach your “I Do’s” with confidence, joy, and a stress-free mindset.

Cross those T’s and Dot those I’s
The first step in your eleventh-hour wedding preparations is all about finalising everything! While you’ve likely been in touch with your suppliers already, it’s wise to double-check that everything is set and in order.
Reach out to each of your suppliers, be it the venue, photographer, caterer, florist, or any other professionals you’ve enlisted to confirm essential details such as timings and any specific arrangements. Ensuring everyone is on the same page will help prevent any last-minute hiccups.
Trust me on this one – the peace of mind that comes from receiving confirmation that everything is ready to go and on track is invaluable. Additionally, don’t forget to settle any outstanding payments promptly. Maintaining open lines of communication with your suppliers is the key to a smoothly executed wedding day.

Seating plans
As the countdown to your wedding reaches the two-week mark, you can expect that most of your guest list has RSVPed. However, if there are any stragglers, don’t hesitate to give them a gentle nudge. After all, it’s your big day! And honestly, they should have replied weeks ago.
Now is the opportune moment to craft the final version of your wedding table plan. I have seen lots of different types of seating plans, weddings with traditional top tables, some top tables with the couple and their friends, sweetheart tables (couple only) and even some with no top table at all.
This is also a great time to consider any ice breakers you might like to add to your tables if you haven’t done so already, one I saw recently which worked really well was a menu card in the middle of the table with things written on the back that everyone on the table had in common. You could also have a wedding speech bingo (fun as a drinking game too) for those livelier tables.

Dress rehearsal time
Take a moment to slip into your wedding outfits and accessories once more to confirm that everything fits flawlessly. Whether it’s a wedding dress, a bridal suit, a groom’s suit – give it a try! If any eleventh-hour adjustments are necessary, don’t hesitate to address them promptly. It’s better to tackle them now than regret any last-minute surprises later.
Remember, to break in your wedding shoes for optimal comfort but be mindful not to overdo it to the point of scuffing or damaging them.
Hopefully these wedding tips will help with your final two weeks of wedding prep.
