Imagine if the fly on your wall had a camera! The photos taken when you’re not staring into the lens or
posing for the shot are lifestyle photos. They are meant to preserve the reality of a moment—from
spontaneous laughter to even a little mess sometimes. They give you a window back into life as you lived it! I do of course offer some more posed family portraits if you would like them.
What is “documentary style” or “lifestyle” photography?
I love to give you a bit of everything! As I edit your gallery, some images will strike me as perfect for a
dramatic black and white edit while others will look best in vibrant colour. So, look forward to finding a fun mix
of the two throughout your final gallery!
WILL OUR IMAGES BE IN COLOUR, BLACK AND WHITE, OR BOTH?
No! And, in fact, please don’t! Remember, we are gathering to document your family and your life, not
someone else’s. The best way to ensure a true-to-you gallery is to enter into your session ready for anything,
game to embrace the spontaneity of a moment. Shot lists and expectations can hinder that approach, so let’s
just let your session day and your family’s dynamic lead the way.
DO WE NEED TO CREATE A SHOT LIST OR PINTEREST IDEA BOARD BEFORE OUR SESSION?
Absolutely! I offer both—along with design services—as optional add-ons to all of my collections. I love
helping busy families by choosing the images, laying out the pages, and sending the albums off to be printed,
so you don’t have to lift a finger. Just promise me you’ll pass them around every Christmas and relive the fun
we had together telling your story!
