Documentary Family Photography

You will have heard me talk over and over about the importance of family photography and my new Toothbrush sessions are my favourite way of capturing those unscripted family moments. Welcome to the world of documentary family photography.

These are the images that you will look back on with smiles and laughter, the ones the children will love to look back on when they are older. This is life as it really is, a fly-on-the-wall capture of family life as you live it.

K&M invited me into their home to capture the last two hours before their little ones went to bed. We had no game plan, no rules. The only thing we knew was that the children had to eat and mum had to be out and ready by 19:30 for dinner with her friend.

Documentary Photography that captures the real moments, the ones you will forget quickly but will look back on with absolute pure nostalgia.

I witnessed the smooth efficiency with which Mummy dealt with dinner time, the way Daddy stepped in to help, and the total love and devotion these two incredible parents had for their children.
It brings me such happiness to look at these photos and think of the children seeing them and showing them to their own children when they are grown. Thank you for trusting me to capture your beautiful family. I can’t wait for the next time K&M.
